HEDDER ILUSTRE-PASCUA
Coach Hedder grew up playing indoor and outdoor volleyball in sunny South Bay, CA with Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach as her backyard. She comes with 30 years of volleyball knowledge for both sports. Hedder has trained with some of the best coaches and players in the nation, having played indoor at the University of Hawaii and on the A2 USA Team. She's been under the wing of sand coaches such as Danalee Corso (first Beach Coach at FSU), Brian Corso, and Nancy Mason. She has trained with top AVP and FIVB players, including her sister Heidi Ilustre-Boatright and sister-in-law Diane Nelson. Hedder has had multiple top finishes in CBVA opens and has played in several AVP Volleyball tournaments. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and is excited to share it!
COACH DIANE NELSON
Diane Nelson, former head volleyball coach at Gonzaga University, spent the past 11 years in the college coaching realm at Gonzaga. Nelson began coaching in 1996, and has an extensive coaching background from running college camps, directing her own club in southern California, coaching club and high school volleyball, and her most recent collegiate experience.
Prior to coaching at Gonzaga, she coached at Santa Fe Christian High School in Solana Beach, Calif., for five years. She led the school to four state title matches, winning in 2003 and 2005. While at Gonzaga, Nelson is the first coach in the history of the program to record at least 11 wins in each of her first four seasons, and she set the program record for the best win percentage under a first-year head coach (17-11, .607 win percentage). During her time as head coach, four Zags have earned WCC All-Conference honors while 19 Bulldogs have been named WCC All-Academic: five First Team recipients and 14 Honorable Mention selections.
In addition to her college coaching experience, Nelson played beach volleyball professionally on the AVP and FIVB Tours, earning a top-32 ranking with partner Heidi Ilustre-Boatright. Her FIVB experience spans from competing in Asia, Europe, Australia, and South America while representing the Philippines (where she holds dual ctiizenship), on the road to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Although the effort fell short, she and Heidi created a name for the Philippine volleyball Federation. She and Ilustre- Boatright were one of the first duos to pave the way for Philippines volleyball.

Aloha, Please let me know if there are any more teams interested in the travel for sand Feb 1-4 in Santa Monica, families attending are locking down hotel and flights. Please let me know if you are planning on attending as I would like to have the cost breakdown for families committed to going by January 17th at the latest.
Also, if you are committed to playing in the local tournament hosted by Kokua in May, please let me know. I'd like to register and rank our teams.
I know it's cold outside and the courts are down but I can provide opportunities for us to get our sand legs going potentially Jan. 25 and 26. If the weather doesn't allow for us to be in the sand I'll try to find an alternative indoor.

We are revamping our sand program for the 2024 season!

We will still be offering sand clinics in May/June for those who just want to train. However, we will be offering more for those who are seriously wanting to compete.
Here is what we offered last year for sand training...
SKILLS TRAINING is for those who would like to increase mobility and speed in the sand, as well as refine sand volleyball skills. Although the main focus will be mastering beach volleyball skills, you will learn some beach volleyball game strategy as well.
**MAY**
May: $125 four week session, once a week 1.5hrs
**JUNE**
June: $250 four week session, twice a week 1.5hrs
ADVANCED TRAINING is for those who have trained with us before or have previous sand experience, and are ready to compete in multiple sand tournaments.

COACH KATIE SATO
We've loved having Coach Katie with us! Coach Katie will be going into her third year with College Prep Beach Volleyball. She attended CSUN (Cal State University Northridge) where she played both indoor and beach. She earned All Big-West Second team in the sand and was an All Big-West Honorable mention on the indoor side. She is a crafty player who creates amazing plays. She is a great coach and has an abundance of knowledge she can share with her players.
COACH LEXI GOROSKI
We are so excited to have Coach Lexi! She spent her collegiate years playing at Montana State University where she made All-Big Sky Academic Selection. While playing at MSU she was able to give back to the community through coaching club volleyball. She went on to travel and play beach volleyball in Europe after graduation. When she returned, she moved to Spokane. She is fresh from playing sand over seas and is excited to coach this year.
